I would like to thank everyone involved in making Eurotour 08 a wonderful and unforgettable trip. My most memorable moments were walking into the stadium for the Gothia cup final even though we lost it was still a great time. Playing against the 96 Boys from England in the Dana Cup they were a great team and could really play. Holding on to the electric fence with Shelby was really funny I was in shock that it was shocking me so I didn’t let go for about 8 Mississippi’s and then my elbow popped.
The Trip was great fun I really enjoyed it.

Although this isn’t original, the absolute most memorable moment is watching the girl’s 13 team walk out onto the field at Ulevi Stadium with tears in my eyes and the national anthem playing. The highlight . . . the girls weren’t quite sure what hand to use when crossing their heart!!! Need to practice that one!
The Swedish people in general. What beautiful, warm and welcoming people. They spoke English so beautifully. They really made you feel at home in their country. They were terrific.
Seeing my daughter for the first time in Sweden, after about 2 weeks of being away, and realizing that she was perfectly content and she didn’t need me one bit. Also, I thought she looked about 2” taller.

The Euro tour was absolutely wonderful for our entire family. We have always enjoyed watching our son enjoy the game of soccer. He has definitely had a taste of good soccer but to our joy, he has learned more than that. He has learned about travel, Sweden, Denmark, and international friendships. Being from a small island in the middle of nowhere, Kyle has little experience of the world, he had been to several states but this was his first trip out of the country and our family’s first trip to Europe.
We all have made friends (parents and children) from Nevada, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Sweden and Denmark. It was great to see the different children representing the countries around the world with one goal unifying them….soccer.
The games were intense and fun, Kyle states the playing soccer was one of his highlights and the other was meeting new friends. He is planning to come again next summer. It was an experience that all of us will remember and treasure.

One of the most memorable moments on this trip was when we were on top of the ferry while it was pouring rain. Shelby, Kennady, Bailey and I were all slipping and sliding on top of the ferry in just t-shirts and pants. We were sliding on our stomachs and our knees. It was really fun. Another very memorable time was the opening ceremony for Gothia Cup. I thought it was just amazing because of how many people there wer in the stadium. They said something like 54000 people. It had a really cool show with all of the lights, dancing and singing. But what was really fantastic was how they introduced all the countries around the world that were playing in that tournament. I also really liked the finale with all of the huge fireworks and all of the teams in the stands singing together. I definitely will never forget that moment. It was also pretty cool that our team went to the finals.

My most memorable moment was when we walked in to that amazing stadium and now knowing how far we had made it. We were finally here and the pressure was on, there could be no mistakes, but of course there were because that is the game of soccer. We end up losing 1-0 but we held our heads high and knew how far we had come and how hard we had worked.
My second favorite moment was we were playing soccer after dinner with the Danish boys. We won that game, but maybe that was because we had player 7 and they only had 3, but it was still fun. There names were Tomas, Henrik and Mikhail. Kennady thought when they said Tomas’s name they were saying dumb ass because of there accents. So Tomas got a new nick name, dumb ass.
Last, but not least was the chocolate milk in Demark. The chocolate milk was amazing it was so much better than chocolate milk here in the U.S. The chocolate milk there was called Cocios, well I think that is how you spell it. By the end of the week we had drunken 95 bottles of chocolate milk!

Here are my most memorable moments!!
I loved going to the Opening ceremonies for the Gothia Cup because I loved seeing all the teams entering the stadium, the fire works and all the noise that was made in the big stadium.
I loved playing against all the different teams from all over the world (including the English boys team in the Dana Cup where they beat us 13 – zip), and to see how well they passed the ball around and looked for opportunities, and learning how the game is played in Europe.
Going to Europe was a great experience for me. I loved playing with all the players on the NSA team. I really felt like I was part of the team when we were knocked out of the Gothia Cup in the “round of 16” and I was very sad and the older girls comforted me. We all walked away singing the veggie tale song (our losing song) laughing and having fun. Rule #1 on our ski team is “Have fun”. NSA is very much like this and I really like this.

We’re on our way back to Sweden now, Denmark was a lot of fun. The Dana Cup was nothing I expected but it wasn’t bad at all. The school was huge, the games were short, the teams were different, and this experience is amazing. The people here still can’t say ‘Excuse Me’ but I got used to it. I think I could walk across Kauai with all the walking I’ve done since I got up here. We walk everywhere when we’re not with Coach Kevin! It’s ridiculous but it’s for my own benefit! I never ate pizza here or in Sweden but I did eat the BEST bacon cheeseburger in my life from Natalie’s Place. It was so good! And the ice cream, OH MY GOD. Still the best ice cream EVER. But yeah, the Dana Cup was fun and I can’t wait to go to the Gothia Cup. One more day?! I still miss my home, Kauai<333-shaylinmeilaniparker.com

Europe so far has been absolutely amazing. This kind of opportunity only comes along every once in a while and I am extremely lucky to be a part of it. I’ve made friends with a few of the Swedish girls here and they are hilarious. They have been teaching me some Swedish and it is fun to learn their language. I’m not very good yet but I’m getting there! At first, I worried I would be homesick but now I realize that it’s nearly impossible. We’re always busy either playing soccer or learning about the country and its people. I also learned how to drive a moped and it was awesome. It wasn’t very fast but it was fun just to be able to drive around by myself. The people here are very helpful and great to hang out with. I can’t believe I’m actually here. I love it and I feel very lucky to have been chosen to come!

Tonight is my last night in another country and I can’t wait to be back in my own bed. I miss my home more than anything right now but this trip was definitely one I will NEVER EVER forget. Everything that happened is a memory I’ll always look back on and smile about. One of the most memorable things about this was the Swedish wedding that Fred got us in to. Me, Lisa, Nina and Noe danced the Hukilau with 4 professional NHL hockey players. It was so much fun because they had no idea what they were doing and us girls messed up so many times but no one noticed. Another memorable moment that stood out was the Opening Ceremony for the Gothia Cup. It was such a thrill to sit there with 50-60,000 other people from all over the world and watch people perform and fireworks burst into the sky. It was just so big, I can’t believe I was there and saw it with my own eyes. And the last most memorable moment from this trip wasn’t really a moment. It was the people. I found some that I always wanna keep in touch with and they will definitely never be forgotten. Sammy, this goes to you my ‘haole’. But last night was the best night I had. Me and Li traded with Brazilians which was really cool? then Me, Lisa, Sammy, Savannah, Nina and Noe pulled an all nighter and laughed until we cried. Overall, everything that happened in the past 3 weeks will never be forgotten and I am thankful I got this opportunity.

So this amazing and indescribable trip is almost over. I finally leave Europe tomorrow. I can’t wait to go home and see my family and my home. The Gothia Cup was GREAT! Something I will never forget! Some of the many memorable things that is almost IMPOSSIBLE to forget is when me, Noe, Nina, and Shay went to a Swedish wedding and danced HULA for them. It was just so funny and really cool how much they enjoyed us dancing the Hukilau. Another thing that is unforgettable is the Gothia Cup opening ceremony. That was so amazing that words can’t even describe it! I am soooooo glad I got the chance to be able to see that because it was just really cool to be there for a sport that I absolutely love to play with many many people from around the world. One last thing that was really memorable was last night when I traded things with the Brazilians. I got really cool things and the little boys were just really cute! I traded a boy for his jersey with my jersey. And he gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. But don’t worry, he was really young; About 12-13. But it was really cute. The little boys were just really stoked that they got to trade with us. So those are some memorable things that I will definitely remember on this trip.

The most amazing trip I’ve ever taken in my entire life is finally coming to an end. I’m sad but somehow happy. I really am starting to miss my family back at home and I just really can’t wait to see them again. But anyways the three most memorable moments I’ve had on this trip would have to be dancing hula Fred’s friend’s daughter’s wedding, who also happened to be the director of the Dana cup. I was pretty fun because we used scarfs for our costumes and we hardly had the dance down. We danced the Huki Lau with professional Swedish hockey players which was also really cool. That night we even had some really good dinner. It was steak, deer and potatoes. My next memory I’d have to remember is the Gothia Cup open ceremony. It was the coolest thing ever and I got it all on video. It was amazing. And the last thing on my list would have to be our last game in the Gothia when we were in the A bracket in the quarter finals. We were losing but it had to have been the funniest game of my entire life. The girls were actually really nice and the ref was totally on our side. I’d like to add one more cause it was a memory. When we went to Liseberg I rode a roller coaster for the very first time in my life. It was so much fun. This experience itself was incredible. Getting to play soccer in another country is good enough for me. And that’s my memory of the Euro Tour 2008!

Hummm….where should I begin? This trip has been amazing, but all good things must come to an end at some point or another. The first most memorable moment of the trip is when I scored a goal. It was the most amazing feeling ever, there was a boys USA team behind and they were cheering and it was so cool. The next most memorable thing is my best friend Johanna her and I got extreamly close and we had a blast. I will miss you Jo-Bro! the third thing is the all nighter my friends and I pulled last night. We had so much fun between the crazy hairdos and the air mattress fights nothing will ever top that night. Nothing will even come close! Over all this experience the whole thing is something none of us will ever forget!

I can’t believe this great dream that came true has to end. I will never forget what has happened in the past 3 weeks. My 3 most memorable things that have happened are: I got to meet many Swedish girls that became friends of mine. The Opening Ceremonies were amazing so many people and different teams would have scream offs which was kind of funny. I got to play many different countries and kids (including boys). I wish this trip would never end but like Savannah said all good things must come to an end.

It’s almost over already. I’ve had so much fun this trip we’ve been to the beach, rested at the schools, ate at the cafiterias, had fun with friends, and most importantly played soccer. My first most memorable moment was when I first met Sofia, Louise, and Victoria. They were all great friends to me during the trip. My second most memorable moment was when we went to the Gothia Cup opening ceremonies . There I had fun with friends while singing dancing and talking. My last most memorable moment was when the night before we left for Stolkihom we all went and traded stuff with the Brazilians. I traded my red polo and a jersey for two shirts. All of the trip was memorable and fun but everything has to come to an end. Ihad so much fun and made a lot of friends (including boys). Hope ican come next year. Loved being with you all.

Wow how time flies! It seems just like yesterday when we were getting on that plane from San Francisco to begin our journey to Europe, and know we only have one more day until we our back on a plane heading to San Francisco. I am kind of excited for this whole trip to be over, but then again, I am sad to be leaving all my great new friends that I have come to know while I have been on this trip. Even though this is my second year on the trip I still haven’t gotten everything down and it is still hard for me to say goodbye. I have gotten to do so many new things that I never could have done if I was back home, like play for three teams in the same tournament at different ages and have to play 6 games in one day. Also I never would have even had the chance to play with a guys team back home. I played so much soccer on this trip that when I get home all I want to do is sleep, relax and do absolutely nothing for at least a week. But of course, not all dreams can come true. ? Anyway this trip has left me with so many memories that there would be no possible way for me to be able to write it all down but there are a few that just stand out in my mind. One is that during the Gothia Cup, The U13’s made it all the way to the finals for the second year in a row!! Unfortunatly, we lost 1-0 just like last year and it was off of an easy goal to. Now I have to silver medals but I was still really pshyced about even being able to be there and getting to play in the stadium for a second time. Also in one of our games to get to the finals I scored a goal! But it wasn’t just any goal, it was a header goal off of a corner kick from my friend Hannah. I was so excited when I saw that ball go into the net that I just wanted to scream!!!!!
Another thing was the Gothia Cup opening ceremony. This year we were all screaming really loud since we were in the very back of the stadium. Tasha, Kelsey, Niki, Chy and I were dancing and singing the whole time. It was such a blast. Also we saw the couple that got engaged last year get married at the opening ceremony. It was so cute!!!! I have met so many new friends on this trip, that it is a miracle that I even know whose who. One of my friends, Elsa, is so amazing. I mean she is a great soccer player, person and everything else. I don’t know what I would have done without her on this trip. She made me laugh and smile and she always kept my spirits high. I have made so many new friends that I have to keep in contact with because I don’t want to lose them. Well our trip is now practically done and that means that soon this miraculous dream will come to an end, but I will still have these memories to remind me of everything that I have done, and of my friends. Hopefully I can come back next year to have some more fun. Luv ya all!!!

Gothia Cup was amazing! Just the opening ceremony was an experience to last a lifetime. To sum it up in three favorite experiences is pretty hard. But my first favorite would be expanding the friendships that I had started to make at Dana Cup. My second favorite thing would definitely be all of the games that I played in, they were really fun. And last my favorite thing would be seeing all of beautiful Sweden. It will be hard to leave but I always have our great memories!

I will remember this trip and my memories from it forever. However, there are three events that stuck out with me the most. The first is at Dana Cup when we were trying to make the B bracket and the coaches decided to put the two goalies, me and Jay, up front as striker, and put Bobby, one of the smallest people on our team… sorry Bobby… as a goalie. It was just a goof around game, and it ended up being really fun. Bobby only let two goals in, and me and Jay got demolished by the other team which caused the coaches to roll on the ground and cry from laughter. Another memorable moment was when we went to Liseberg amusement park with some of the Swedish kids as a last day of fun before we had to say goodbye. And the third and most memorable moment was when we went shopping at Stockholm and saw people gambling. All of the boys were watching and it was so easy for us young folk because we could see where the ball was going and could figure it out, but all of the other adults were having issues and one of the parents on the trip lost some money because he wouldn’t listen to us. This trip was excellent and I made a lot of new friends no matter how strange they may be.

Ferry Frederickshavn to Gothenberg, July 13, 2008
We’re on a ferry again going back to Sweden for the Gothia Cup which starts tomorrow. The younger girls have a game tomorrow and the opening ceremony starts tomorrow night. Its gonna be CRAZY with actually about 45,000 and more people coming. The Dana cup was great and really fun. It was really tiring but it was a really good experience and it helped me to be prepared for what the Gothia Cup is gonna be like. We didn’t get to go to the Dana Cup disco though because we had some people do things that wasn’t supposed to happen. But Coach Fred said that we might be able to go to the Gothia Cup disco which should have about 5,000 people. So that should be fun. I still miss everything and everyone back home; more and more each day. I am trying to talk to you all as much as possible. I love you all and can’t wait to see you again!

Today were on a ferry back to Gothenburg. We are about to start the Gothia Cup and I am really excited. The Dana Cup was really fun and a great experience. The 95’ girls team did pretty good. We were really close to be in the finals but we lost in penalty kicks. The final score was 1-1. Although it was disappointing that we lost we all had a bunch of fun. There were teams from all over the world from all different countries. And there are going to be a lot more teams from all over at the Gothia Cup. I cant wait till the Gothia Cup. Anyways I miss you all a lot and I can’t wait till I come home!

Today is July 13 and we are on a ferry again and I hope I don’t get sea sick. That would really suck. Anyways my parents are here now and I’m excited to see them again. I’ve really missed them and I kinda wanna go home, but I really don’t at the same time because I am super excited about the Gothia Cup. The Dana Cup was a blast I had so much fun getting to meet other teams from different countries. We met one team from Guatemala and it was cool because they all gave us bracelets that said Guatemala on it and they are pretty awesome. Oh also there was this one boy on that team that had a crush on Ryann, it was hilarious because he kept trying to talk to her and one time he put his arm around her hahaha. He was really funny. Anyway about the games, we won a couple, tied one and got to the semi finals and lost that game in penalty kicks… it kind of sucked. But we still have the Gothia Cup so hopefully we will do better in that one. Okay im done typing so… yeah, Bye
