Nomads March 2011

In every youth soccer team, there seems to always be a few players and families who would like to do more than what their local teams have to offer. The NSA tournament team program is designed for those players.

Who may participate?
Training: NSA training is open to all players of the appropriate ages
Tournament Teams: Selected players will be invited to join the tournament teams.

How does it work?

NSA staff teaches in camps and clinics at various locations around the country to introduce players and families to the NSA philosophy and method of training. Players are encouraged to play on local teams to stay in soccer shape and learn from other environments. As part of the training, serious players are invited to join tournament teams to participate in major National and International tournaments. Prior to tournaments, players will attend intense training camps to prepare. At each tournament, players gather, meet new friends, compete and share the fun.

Tournaments in the USA:
Annually, in cooperation with the Nomads Soccer Club (San Diego), NSA will attend the Nomads College Showcase in March

For College Bound players who have attained the appropriate playing level, NSA may bring them to additional National College Showcases and assist them in matching up with Colleges.

International Tournaments:
The first three weeks of July is reserved for the EUROTOUR. We offer 1 week of intense training, then we travel to the Dana Cup (in Denmark) and Gothia Cup (in Sweden) to compete in the World’s most prestigious youth Soccer Tournaments. Gothia Cup draws over 1600 teams from over 70 nations annually. Since 1992, over 1500 people have travelled with NSA. NSA players have won numerous championships. JOIN the fun.

Scheduling

By design, players chosen to join NSA Tournament teams are among the best in their local teams. They will come to NSA, learn and return more experienced players to their teams.

Players who wish to participate in the NSA tournament teams must make arrangements to be excused from local team activities to train and represent NSA in major competition.
Head Coach: Fred Hsu USSF “A” Licensed, Brazilian Coaching License and selected NSA staff.

NSA does not claim ownership of players.
The NSA tournament team program is not designed to service everyone.

Fees:

Training Sessions (2 to 3 hours): $40- per session
There will be a limited number of training sessions scheduled over the next few months. Although training sessions are not mandatory, we encourage players to come to as many of them as possible. Competition at the Nomads College Showcase is strong.

Players accepted to tournament teams will incur the following costs:

Annual Registration: $25.00
Everyone going on a tournament team must pay this fee. It helps pay for the registrar, sports insurance and misc. organizational stuff. Some NSA players may already be registered with U.S. Club Soccer, all we need is a loan form. For those who are not, NSA will absorb the cost of your U.S. Club Soccer Registration.

Weekend tournament fees:

Tournament weekend (3 DAY weekend): $495.00
This pays for staff wages, staff travel, tournament fees and many other expenses associated with NSA.

Sleepover weekend prior to the Tournament: 2 training sessions $80.00

Uniform: $95.00
Includes 2 jerseys, 1 pair of shorts and 1 pair of NSA socks. We try to use the same model of uniform for many years to reduce cost for participants on multiple NSA events. Warm ups are optional.

Players are responsible for their own travel, lodging and food.
All NSA teams will stay at the same hotel in San Diego. We encourage players to share lodging and rides whenever possible.
